Protein rich foods contain little or no fiber. Be it meat or dairy products, or nuts even, their fiber content is minimal. Some protein rich vegetables such as ginger and tomatoes still do not contain the amount of fiber needed to keep the intestines strong. When the chime that enters the duodenum is not fiber rich, it exerts various hindrances in its digestion. This leads to chronic constipation and diverticulitis.
6. Breeds cancer
The blood analysis of people habitual of high protein consumption has shown a hike in Insulin-like Growth Factors (IGF-1) which is known to promote cancer. If the body is already afflicted with protein folding diseases, the protein p53 gets activated. This is the most important protein in the body’s cancer resisting mechanism. In case of its activation, the threat of various tumors and cancers is originated, especially lung cancer.
