Actress Nastassja Kinski has a love/hate relationship with what she has called a mild case of narcolepsy. "I have a real problem sleeping properly," she told the British newspaper The Telegraph in an interview. "Though sometimes it's interesting to be really tired because, creatively, you think of things you wouldn't otherwise. But it's dangerous." Kinski acknowledged that her occasional passing-out episodes on set add to rumors that she could be a party girl, but she says she actually leads a very clean lifestyle.
Cheryl Hines: Insomnia
Actress Cheryl Hines struggled with sleep problems for more than 20 years, reporting that she had trouble not only going to sleep but also staying asleep. "I was also dealing with waking up in the middle of the night and then not being able to get back to sleep," she has said. In 2007, Hines, co-star of the HBO show "Curb Your Enthusiasm," joined with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Foundation to work on an insomnia awareness campaign called "Why Count on Sheep to Sleep?"
Recommendations for overcoming insomnia include getting exercise during the day instead of directly before bedtime and keeping a regular wake-and-sleep schedule.
