Sure your abs are important too, but the truth is, if you have a defined chest, you can get away with less than a six-pack, because you’ll still look good without your shirt on. If you’re going for mass, your best best is to hit the barbell and focus on the bench press. Heavy weights and light reps are the recipe to build muscle mass. If you want a more chiseled look with less mass, use lighter weights on the bench press and more reps. You should also mix in machine work to further define your chest.
